Lesson Plans we 9/11/15

Welcome back to week two of school.  We are getting the hang of things here on team 5-3.  We are finding our way around the building, opening our lockers, and bringing materials to class.  A few announcements and reminders:

1.)  Biographical sheets went home today.  Please make any necessary changes and return these forms to school as soon as possible.
2.)  Meet the Teacher Night is Tuesday, September 15th from 6-7 p.m.  This is a great night for your student to show off their classrooms and lockers.  We would love to meet parents too!!

In math this week, we are continuing with place value in whole numbers to the millions place and to the thousandths place in decimals.  Students received a math project that is due on Friday, September 11th to design a wanted poster for a number to the millions place.  Please see the rubric copied on the back side of the directions.  Help your child be sure they have all criteria on his/her poster.  If you should have any questions, please contact me.  In addition, the following homework may be assigned:

Wednesday - practice & reteaching 1.2
Thursday - practice & reteaching 1.3

In science, we are continuing our work on unit 1 "What is a Scientist".  Students have completed the vocabulary and will work on completing fill in the blank (AKA wholey notes) notes for lesson 1.

As always, if you have any questions, please email or call. Thanks,
Mrs. Kalwarczyk

Biographical Information and Homework 9/3

Due to our new student information system, biographical forms have not been sent home for updated information.  They should follow shortly.

Homework in math is practice and reteaching 1.1.  Topic 1 in Math involves place value of whole numbers and decimals.

Math textbooks were distributed this week.  Please have your student cover his/her book as soon as possible. Paper grocery bags work best, I have extras in class if any students need them.  Unfortunately, we do not allow book socks since they can damage the book binding.  Any questions, please let me know. Thanks,
Mrs. Kalwarczyk
