Weekly Plans 10/27

We had a really fun week last week with Community Reading Day.  We were lucky to have a parent volunteer read to our class.  Thank you!!

A few reminders this week:

The can drive is running from 10/27 - 11/7, please send in can goods/boxed goods.  We are not accepting any Ramen Noodles, peanut butter, expired or dented cans.  Any little bit will help families in the community.  Thanks for all your support.

The Scholastic book fair is running on Tuesday, October 28th.  Any student interesting in purchasing  books may bring cash or check made payable to Charlton PTO.

In Math this week, students are continuing to learn division with a one digit divisor.  Tonight's homework is Practice and reteaching 4.3 which deals with interpreting remainders.  Often in word problems a remainder is not an option.  My goal for the week is to have students be comfortable with words problems and determine what to do with the remainder (reasonableness).  Later in the week, I will introduce divisibility rules and provide more practice and projects on long division.

In science, we are continuing our unit on the Engineering Design Process.  We will have a lesson 1 quiz on Thursday including the following vocabulary works (engineering, technology, prototype, criteria).  We will complete wholly notes before the quiz so that students can utilize wholly notes, vocabulary and reread lesson 1 to be prepared for quiz.

Make it a great week!

Weekly Plans 10/20

We are extremely busy in class this week!  Don't forget picture retakes are on 10/20.

Unfortunately, it was first come first serve.  I will be in touch with any parent who volunteered to have the parents come in on another mutually agreed upon day.  Enjoy the week!!!https://www.superteachertools.net/jeopardyx/jeopardy-review-game.php?gamefile=1413759269#.VEUndfnF-Al
