WE 11/20/13

In science, we are wrapping up our "What is Life"  unit.  The students did an AMAZING job on their projects.  We have been enjoying a few every day.  The students will have Chapter 2 test on Thursday, November 21st.  Each night, the students have had a review type of homework that will reinforce their skills for the test.  In addition, we have reviewed using the jeopardy game.  Please click on the link below to practice at home:

D Block Math - Students will have a topic 3 test on Friday, November 22nd.  On Thursday, their homework will include the practice test in the book on pages 86-87, questions 1-17.

B Block Math - Students are preparing for a topic 4 test on Monday/Tuesday next week.  More information to be provided as we get near the end of the this week.

Science Quiz

All students will have a science quiz on the 5 Traits of Life and Basic Needs of all Living Organisms (DR ROM & MEOW) on Wednesday, October 30th.  Students received a study guide today and have Chapter 2 notes to refer to.  Also, DR ROM projects went home today, please send me an email if you have any questions.

Math B block - Should complete independent practice pg. 69 Q 7-23 for homework

Math D Block - Students will have a topic 2 Math test on Friday.  For homework students should complete Pg. 58-29 (practice test) in book Q 1-17.

The study guide to topic 2 is in the book on pages 54-57.  Each set reviews the skill introduced.  In addition, practice is incorporated on the right side of each page.  The students have been working hard on addition and subtraction of decimals are will do a great job on this test!

All students should continue to study for the 8 Step Engineering Design Quiz on Thursday, October 3rd. All students should have a graphic organizer and notes detailing the 8 steps.

Homework September 24, 2013

We are going strong in our Technology/Engineering unit.  For homework on the 24th & 25th, students should research tower design using resources such as the Internet, books, magazines, encyclopedias, or newspapers.  Students can cut out pictures or make sketches to begin the design planning stage.  All research is due on the 26th.

Block B math should complete Practice page 2.1

Block D should study for the Chapter 1 test on Wednesday using pages 22 & 23 in the textbook.  Students should complete practice problems on the right hand side of the page.

Science Test on Wednesday, September 18th

On Wednesday, September 18th, we will have a test on Chapter 1.  Students were given a study guide today.  In addition, we discussed studying our vocabulary and two pages of chapter notes that were given to them.  On Tuesday, we will be completing a video review in a game format.  Ask your students about it Tuesday evening!

In math, block B should complete workbook page P1-5 practice only and block D should complete P1-4 both sides (reteaching and practice).  We will be wrapping this chapter up shortly.  Look for test information to come home soon!!

Welcome to 5th Grade at Charlton Middle School

Welcome to Charlton Middle School.  Mrs. Hannon and I are looking forward to meeting our new students on Tuesday, August 27th.  Make sure to check the website daily to view homework assignments and announcements.
